Another Story

How we look after your details

This covers the stories your family makes in Another Story, and the sign-up form for the test families. It's short on purpose.

Your family's stories

Grandparents and other relatives

Before a relative records anything, their link asks them to agree: their recordings are kept privately for the child's family and used to make the child's stories, and the family can delete them at any time. We keep a note of when they agreed.

Free stories, once per family

So the free stories go to real families, one set per family: when a parent uses their free stories, we remember the phone or computer it was done on, using a random code saved in that browser. We keep only a scrambled version of the code, which can't identify you, and we keep it even if you delete your account, so the free stories can't be claimed again from that device. Grandparents recording through their link are never counted.

How we improve Another Story

We count how Another Story is used (for example "a story was made" or "a page was opened") with PostHog, in the EU. No cookies, no screen recording, and never names, stories, recordings or email addresses: families are counted under a scrambled code, and visitors who aren't signed in aren't identified at all.

What we collect

Why

Only to run the two-week test: to choose the test families, to email you about the test, and to arrange the 15-minute feedback chat afterwards. We use it because you asked us to, by signing up and ticking the box.

Who sees it

Only the Another Story team. We don't sell it, and we don't share it with anyone else or use it for advertising. It's kept in our secure database, which only our server can read.

How long we keep it

We delete your sign-up details 6 months after the test ends. If you don't take part, we delete them sooner.

Changing your mind

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your details at any time, or stop emails: email noaman92@gmail.com or reply to any email we send you. We'll do it within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
